R5 CONTINUED

My luck with my new Canon R5 continued on a nice and sunny spring day in Filoli Gardens. Hiking along a trail in the woods nearby the gardens, I came upon a Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) feeding upon a Botta’s Pocket Gopher (Thomomys bottae). It took the heron several minutes to gulp the whole gopher down allowing me to take several shots. And, I got to shoot some strutting male Wild Turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo) as a bonus! Again the eye-tracking AF mode came to my rescue. In the heat of the moment, I let the camera do most of the work while I could concentrate more on getting in place in the right position faster before the action ended.
